Enough detail in photo to identify? Sarcophaga sp or something else? by andrewslack

This was sunning itself in my parents' garden and resting on plants. Is it a flesh fly? or is it one of the other black and white/ish flies there are? I'm hoping there's enough detail in the photo for someone more expert to tell me more exactly what it is. many thanks, Andrew

Muscidae fly-Phaonia spp? by wirralbirder46

Hi All
Another image from 2005 taken from the Wirral Cheshire has been uploaded to the Gallery. The bulge on the outer wing seems consistent with Phaonia. Also from the image I think I can see three posterior setae on the mid-tibia.
I am a novice at this so may be way off the mark

Cheers Harry
