ID Help Please!!

This is all very new for me,I am a wildlife photographer but I have just got into bugs etc,so can any one please give me a hand to ID this hover fly.

Thanks for your help and speedy identification. I have Flies of the British Isles by Colyer & Hammond,  is there any around that may be better for me to use??

Colyer and Hammond is a great book, but obviously a bit dated.
If you enjoy photographing flies, why not concentrate on hoverflies and buy a copy of Stubbs anbd Falk (British Hoverflies). That should enable you to identify a reasonable proportion.
