Anyone seen these wonderful images of Milichiidae and Praying Mantids? The exclamation OMG springs to mind!

Re: Milichiidae images

Really amazing!  I had read about the sneaky habits of some Milichiids and have caught Desmometopa myself.  Have a look also at Irina Brake's Website 'Milichiidae Online'  - here she calls them 'Freeloader Flies' which I think is an excellent name considering the behaviour.  The 'biology' section is very interesting and there are more photos of flies obtaining food from other insects and spiders.  Some Milichiids apparently are also called 'Ant-Mugging flies' I see.

Re: Milichiidae images

Tony Irwin already alerted us about the ant-mugging flies in May last year: http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthrea … d_id=21902.
