Can any kind soul ID a Balkan Fly found near Lake Kerkini 12/5/2017

Paul Beuk Try the Diptera.info forum. wink

John Pitts A good idea Paul.

John Pitts Nearest I have got to it was Chrysops relictus but I know virtually nothing about diptera. smile

Mike Kerry I would say the antennae are much too short for your suggestion, John, and the eyes not colourful enough. To throw another complete guess into the ring, it reminds me of Hybomitra bimaculata that I saw in Norfolk in May.

John Pitts Thanks next stop DF smile

Ian Andrews Group Admin As Paul said, above, next stop should be diptera.info smile
