Identification of Orthoceratium specimen collected by A. Stubbs

Dear colleagues,

I am finishing a revision of Orthoceratium and came across the following specimen record in an unpublished manuscript by late C.E. Dyte:

(GR-06) - GREECE: Ionian Islands, Corfu, Dassia, 4.v.1972, leg. A.E. Stubbs [Dyte (unpubl. data)

I wonder if this specimen still exists and if so, who could help me with checking its sexe and the presence of one black bristle at the basal 1/3 of the fore tibia. This is majorly important to come to a correct ID.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Marc

I think Dyte's collection ended up at the London NHM. Try Erica McAlister at the museum.

Re: Identification of Orthoceratium specimen collected by A. Stubbs

Dear Nigel,

thanks for your reply.
In the meantime, I have seen all the Orthoceratium specimens from the BMNH and all other major museums but not Corfu specimen in there.
As Corfu is one of these sites that might hold both currently recognized species, I am quite eager to get in touch with Alan Stubbs himself over this. Can anybody help me to get in touch with him, please? And it's quite urgent as the manuscript on this topic is entirely ready, apart from this issue.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Marc

Dear all,

I just want to inform you that I no other choice than to submit the MS today, and thus cannot wait any longer for a response in this matter.
If I might get information between now and the return of the MS for reworking, I will certainly include it in the reworked MS.

With kind regards,
Marc
