Question on References

Hello

Hope you are all well.

I am writing to ask a question.

If a thesis is written in 1985 but is awarded in 1987 which date do I use for the Reference?

Thank you

Elisabeth

Re: Question on References

I would think that if the title page of the thesis gives a publication date of 1985 then that is the date to use.

Re: Question on References

If memory serves, the date of award is when it is "made public" in a library so the date you use, the date of submission with something like a PhD will be an uncorrected draft.

Re: Question on References

This is a tough one. The references I've seen use the date of the award but I wasn't entirely sure. I think the date of the award is right, after that there are, as you say no more corrections.

Thanks to you both for replying
