This is definitely a Dolichopus, but I cannot tell the difference from the picture between D. plumipes (with entirely dark hind metatarsus, and hind tibia dark apically) and D. wahlbergi (hind metatarsus with pale basis), assuming that D. polleti (also with entirely dark hind metatarsus, but entirely pale hind tibia) does not occur in the UK.
