Hi all,
Any ideas which fly this is? Several families seem to have the same eyes and antenna, and it looks pretty non-descript, at least as far as lighting and colours go.
Any help appreciated!
Take care,
Jason

Can't see why it's not a doli, but can't go any further I'm afraid.

If it was sitting on a tree trunk, it might be a Medetera in the Dolichopodidae. They sit in a very upright position, scanning for prey. I always think of them as 'sit up and beg' flies.

Thanks. Wood, yes... tree, no... it was the wall of a shed. I'll upload two other angles I got of it tomorrow.
I have had Medetera muralis on an outside wall.
