Draft key to British Tachydromia

Not all British species of Tachydromia are covered in Collin's British Flies (1961) or Chvla's Fauna Entomologica Scandinavica (1975) monograph. The following link is to a draft key to the British species. It is very much a provisional key so you may well find mistakes in it. Confirmatory decriptions and illustrations of male genitalia of all species except edenensis can be found in Chvla M. (1970) Revision of the Palaearctic species of the genus Tachydromia Meig. (=Tachista Loew)(Diptera, Empididae) Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 38: 415-524. Tachydromia edenensis is described and figured by Hewitt, S & Chvla, M. (2002) Br. J. Ent. Nat. Hist 15: 65-70.
Currently Patrick Grootaert and Igor Shamshev or apparently working on a new Palaearctic revision of the genus but this is unlikely to be available for some time
