I would add in two additional links to morphology:-
Firstly the RES key to Diptera : Introduction and key to families which is freely downloadable and contains a guide to morphology http://www.royensoc.co.uk/sites/default … Part01.pdf
And secondly the Manual of Nearctic Diptera Volume 1 which is also freely downloadable containing Chapter 2 on morphology http://www.esc-sec.ca/aafcmonographs/ma … _vol_1.pdf Volume 2 is also available.
Both may be regarded as old, but both are still useful.
