I've just been told of a Ptychoptera albimana that has turned up in a moth trap this morning (1 Feb 2016) at Damgate Wood, Acle, Norfolk (TG403100).
Is this unusual for this species, or have the milder winters been generating other early individuals in recent years?
Thanks, Tony

My earliest record, for what it's worth, is the 21st March (2012).

Congratulations ! That is the new record for Ptychoptera albimana !! Howard had the previous record from Langley in East Kent (VC15). The only other March record was from John Dobson from Bramley Marsh, Surrey (VC 17) on 29/03/1991. Who was the Recorder, please ??

Well! I've been deprived of a record I never knew I held! I concede to you, Tony, with great pleasure.

The recorder was Martin Greenland - I'll send you his e-mail separately, John.
