Just came across this Australian site using DELTA and Intkey. The site presents the plates from the works of Curtis which have been scanned and linked into an interactive key.

And a very interesting site it is! especially from a historic prospective,
Nice colour plates from Curtis & very detailed black & white ilustrations
by Walker, all dated from the early to the mid 1800s,
Well worth a look.

There is a useful key to families of Diptera available free from:-
http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/hfd/library/FI … 62001b.pdf
Although it covers flies of British Columbia and is really just a modification of the Nearctic Manual key, it does have some use in Britain and is quite simple
