One of the benefits of all this citizen science mularkey is that we are finding that species we thought were scarce, are in fact quite widespread. And species we thought might be common like Tachina ursina, we can now confidently say ARE common.
It's all good stuff.

Perhaps the strangest (at least to me) record I have heard of for this species was last July in a garden pitfall trap in Luton.
