Fly statuses

JNCC maintains a list of statuses of UK species which includes our National ones (e.g. British Red Data Books and Nationally Scarce) as well as legislative (e.g. Wildlife and Countryside Act) and International ones (e.g. BAP, CITES and Annexes of European Directives).

You can download the list in spreadsheet format from the JNCC web-site. There are links on this page to download either a zipped version (2.2mb) or an uncompressed .xls file (15mb).

The full texts of the recently published Diptera status reviews can also be downloaded in PDF format. The two reviews that have been published so far are the Empidoidea (1.2mb) and the Nematocera and Aschiza (1.2mb).

Three more volumes are in the process of production and publication. They cover Acalyptrates, Calyptrates and Syrphidae. They will be made available in a similar way once they are published.

Re: Fly statuses

Stuart, the JNCC website status list is a really useful link. Downloaded the zipped version easily. So useful to have the status of all species in one Excel table! thanks.  Judy
