Platypalpus minutus/australominutus

Can anyone describe the differences between Platypalpus minutus and australominutus, or provide access to Grootaert's 1989 paper on australominutus (http://www.dipteristsforum.org.uk/sgb_s … php?id=636)? Is it possible to distinguish females?

Thanks,
Martin

Re: Platypalpus minutus/australominutus

I can try a scan of male genitalia tomorrow. Females are indistinguishable.

Thanks Paul - the scan would be most welcome, although unfortunately the specimen I have in front of me is female :-(

Re: Platypalpus minutus/australominutus

Then you're stuck unless you can apply molecular techniques... wink
